SYSTEM
FERMAX has developed four technologies for audio and video entry systems:
1. BUS 2 System (audio data system)
VIDEO ENTRY SYSTEM 2 COMMON WIRES (WITHOUT POLARITY)
• The DIGITAL BUS2 video entry system is a simplified installation system with minimum wiring and powerful features. The frequency modulation (FM) based transmission system guarantees maximum audio and video signal quality in B/W and COLOUR at all points of the installation. The system provides maximum protection against outside interference.
• It requires 2 wires (without polarity) throughout the installation. It is possible to combine B/W monitors, COLOUR monitors and telephones in the same installation.
• The system enables management by block or building: up to 199 homes* and 2 entry accesses.
• The maximum system distance is 250m*. We recommend CAT2 twisted pair cable for maximum distances and homes capacity. (See System Technical Information).
• The BUS2 AMPLIFIER comes complete with built-in voice synthesizer. When the electric lock is activated, a message is reproduced: “The door is open, please close the door behind you”.
• The CAMERA included in the BUS2 panels comes in COLOUR as standard.
• BUS2 MONITORS AND TELEPHONES must be programmed with the house number where they are installed, using a process identical to the FERMAX VDS system.
• Communication is private.
• Maximum capacity in combination with other systems: in larger projects and urbanizations we can combine BUS2 facilities in individual buildings with an MDS installation in control of the general entrances, allowing facilities of approximately 2000 panels, 630.000 monitors, guard units and access and automation control functions, according to MDS features. MDS/BUS2 DECODERS are required.
• In one apartment can be installed up to 2 terminals, telephones or monitors.
* Following the cable/section recommendations specified, while incorporating the signal regenerators necessary depending on the installation.

2. VDS System (audio data system)
AUDIO 3 COMMON WIRES
VIDEO 3 COMMON WIRES+COAX / UTP CAT5 / 5 WIRES
• The VDS digital video and audio door-entry system is simple to install, as it does not use call wires for each apartment.
• Makes it possible to manage buildings with up to 199 apartments, 2 entry accesses and guard unit. Maximum distance in the installation: 200 meters.
• VDS amplifier lock control is implemented with a voltage free contact. Both AC and DC locks can be operated.
• The VDS amplifier includes Voice Synthesizer as standard. A message is reproduced when the lock-release is activated: "The door is opened, please close the door behind you”.
• The VDS telephones and monitors function by means of a microprocessor and must be programmed with the number of corresponding home.
• Communication is private. During communication no other tenant can hear the conversation.
• It is possible to combine monitors and telephones in the same installation.

3. Analogue System (multi-wires and call-wires per handset)
AUDIO 4 COMMON WIRES + N (1 CALL WIRE PER HOME)
VIDEO 7 COMMON WIRES +1 VIDEO COAXIAL+ N (1 CALL WIRE PER HOME)
• The analogue system uses common wires to the entire installation plus 1 call (or call return) wire per home.
• Recommended in small/medium-sized buildings (up to approx. 50 apartments), with several accesses and guard unit. For residential areas with general entrance and internal apartment blocks.
• The amplifier is the module which incorporates the necessary electronic circuits to make the audio system work. It includes volume controls, both outdoor-dwelling and dwelling-outdoor so the installer can obtain the optimum volume. Allows including a voice synthesizer that reminds the visitor to close the door after entering.
• Audio and Video Door Entry system can also include a guard unit which with the inhabitants of the building can contact the concierge through their own telephone or monitor. In certain cases, the calls made from the outdoor panel can be filtered by the concierge.
• It is possible to complete the system with any of the following accessories:
Proximity reader.
Keypad reader.
Panoramic cardholder.
Bluetooth module.

4. MDS System (multiplexed digital system)
AUDIO: 4 COMMON WIRES + 1 COMMON TWISTED PAIR
VIDEO: 6 COMMON WIRES + 1 COMMON TWISTED PAIR + 1 VIDEO COAXIAL
• MDS (Multiplexed Digital System) is a digital audio and video door-entry system that integrates all the services of the apartment block or housing complex:
1. AUDIO AND VIDEO DOOR ENTRY SYSTEM.
2. INTERCOMMUNICATION between accesses, homes, guard units, and lifts.
3. ACCESS MANAGEMENT CONTROL according to authorisations to restricted areas. Each user has an identification code for all accesses.
4. SECURITY centralised in the guard unit, for protection of communal areas and control of incidents in the homes.
5. AUTOMATION of functions and services of the apartment block or condominium (sprinklers, lights, swimming-pool, etc.).
• Allows to manage buildings and condominiums of whatever size.
• MDS is a system with simplified BUS installation.
• The CENTRAL UNIT incorporates all the electronics for management and control of the system.
• The floor DECODERS connect the homes to the installation BUS and act as isolators. Home to outdoor panel communication is private.
