How to connect the call extension pack to amplifiers with 6 vias connector

The aim of this article is to clarify a question frequently asked by installers during the connections of the amplifiers through the call extension pack Ref.2441 (up to 16 buttons) or Ref.2008 (up to 8 buttons).

The aim of this article is to clarify a question frequently asked by installers during the connections of the amplifiers through the call extension pack Ref.2441 (up to 16 buttons) or Ref.2008 (up to 8 buttons).

As per standard the buttons panels with continuous profile require the call extension pack to transform the mechanical press of the button into the digital address. Their amplifier includes a connector of 5 vias that adapts perfectly to the 5 vias connector of the call extension pack.

In contrast, the amplifier for Skyline or display/keypad includes a connector of 6 vias that adapts accurately to the corresponding module (Skyline buttons module, display, keypad,…) also with 6 vias.

If due to any circumstance, the installer would have not available the corresponding amplifier with 5 vias to connect the call extension pack, he could use an amplifier with 6 vias respecting the below additional settings, shown in the table for the different systems:

For example, this setting would be useful in cases like when you are in the installation and you have only available amplifiers with 6 vias.

Note that in Lynx there are only amplifiers with 6 vias, so in case that call extension pack is necessary, that means if the buttons are not integrated in the amplifier, the described connection is the mandatory one.

 

On the other hand, as you remember, in VDS/Bus2 technologies the call extension pack is not necessary until three buttons, as they can be wired directly to the amplifier connector, but in DUOX/Lynx the call extension pack is mandatory from first button (not integrated into the amplifier), unless we speak about the amplifiers integrated buttons one & two that are ready to work without call extension pack. If the first pushbutton is not integrated in the amplifier module, the call extension pack is always required.

If the first pushbutton is not integrated in the amplifier module, the call extension pack is always required. This option with 2 pushbuttons integrated in the amplifier module will be only available in the new hardware version of the LYNX amplifier, foreseen for August 2017. The current LYNX amplifier only includes one integrated pushbutton in the amplifier module. If the first pushbutton is not integrated in the amplifier module, the call extension module is always required.
